99 in arc: Idiocraception – chapter: This Sucker Is Nuclear
SONAIS 281 - Saturday, June 27, 2026
Steve: What's in all these boxes? Looks like piles of disks…Many piles of disks. Adil: Nuclear reactor parts? Fuel? Vinyl records?
Steve: What the hell? These are plain frisbees! Rather flexible ones, I must say. Adil: Frisbees? Near a nuclear reactor? I expected this place to be less random and silly than the rest of this world! Steve: I see no link with the supposed music or movie studios either.
Adil launches a frisbee towards another security camera, again knocking it out. Adil: I do see a use for them… there goes another security camera! SFX: WHACK! Alana: Maybe OIB-A271 can now see enough around us to explain these frisbees…

Heidi: Now we are getting really deep into this building's basement. Signal still good, OIB-A271? OIB-A271 (voice from phone): As good as it gets. You are now really close to the actual reactor, but several bots prevent me from seeing details.
View of OIB-A271. OIB-A271: There must be a nearby spawning chamber as well. I would suggest converting it instead of destroying like the past few. The distance to the first “resurrection chamber” is getting really large. Heidi (voice): Sounds like a plan. Get your weapons, guys.
Max shows off his dual Uzi 9mm submachine guns. Max: My plasma rifle ran out of juice. It's Uzi time! Alana: We are running low on ammo. I hope we reach our destination soon, or we need to either walk all the way back to the weapons store, or go hara-kiri on our avatars to force a respawn near to it…

Max fires both Uzis while Alana fires an RPG. Max: Eat lead! Alana: Eat RPG! My last one…
Heidi: All right, this spawn chamber is now our respawn point. SFX: POOF! OIB-A271 (voice from phone): Your quantum budget still looks OK, but we should avoid doing this again.
Steve is standing near a heavy door with a radioactivity sign. Steve: This chamber is right next to the entrance to the reactor core. Can you now tell us more about it? OIB-A271: Yeah, level security went down the drain. Let me look… oh boy, this thing looks weird.

SONAIS 284 - Tuesday, July 7, 2026
A view from inside the room behind the heavy door, with several control panels and some barrels with radioactive symbols. OIB-A271 (voice): This reactor has been built on a budget. It is functional, but all security best practices were ignored. It is prone to a pretty spectacular meltdown… I mean, “take the whole complex with it” spectacular.
View of OIB-A271 in the real world. Max (voice): So… should the need arise, we can blow this whole place to oblivion? OIB-A271: Unfortunately there is a problem with that. Triggering the meltdown requires passing through a zone with radiation so severe you could never get past it alive, you would respawn on every attempt.
Max: Major bummer. No big badaboom, then, I guess. Heidi: This place looks like it was built by humans, but not built to be maintained by humans. Again seems to confirm my suspicions…
