Strip 205. Everyone is preparing for their virtual deaths, which proves surprisingly easy.

Heidi and Adil are inside the suicide booth.
Heidi: It is about time, let's go. Such unresponsive touchscreen… I need to punch it.
Voice: Duo option selected. For $50 extra, you can both have your eyes scooped out with a melon baller.
Adil: Ugh… luckily we can't even afford that!

Steve is down in the subway station.
Steve: No safety guards whatsoever… As if they want people to jump in front of trains. Strange, but in this case, convenient. Next train is coming… here I go.

Alana and Max are at a balcony at the top of a high rise building.
Alana: No guard rails, nothing. This future seems to consider safety very overrated.
Max: It's 11:29. I hope this jump does provide some “fun” before we get virtually splattered.

Zhang has received his 2 buckets of toxic “tea.”
Zhang: I am served something that will obviously kill me, yet no advance payment required… people in this future truly are not bright.

Strip 206. The team tries to kill their avatars in the hopes of exiting the simulation.
Heidi and Adil watch in horror as the suicide booth deploys several weapons.
Voice: Thank you for using a Snotbay™ suicide booth. Have a nice death.
Adil and Heidi: AAAARGHHH!

Steve jumps in front of the oncoming subway train.
Steve: GERONIMO!

We see Alana and Max performing their “skydive.” Max looks frightened, but Alana does seem to enjoy it.
Alana and Max: WHAAAAA!

Zhang one-shots his second Big Ass Bucket of used motor oil extract tea.
Zhang (thinking): Goodness, this stuff is absolutely vile!

Strip 207. The team's attempt to forcibly exit the future simulation does not seem successful.
The silhouettes of Steve, Alana and Max materialize in the same location as when they first entered the simulation.
SFX: WHOOSHHH…

While the others look around, Heidi and Adil materialize as well.
Max: Ouch! That did hurt after all. Wait a minute… we are still in the simulation, at the same spot as where we started?
Steve: Oh no…
SFX: WHOOSHH

Adil: What? We are still in this virtual hellhole? Did we go through all that torture for nothing?
Heidi: If that was “relatively painless…” I do wonder what they were comparing it to. Where is Zhang?

Strip 208. The team tries to figure out why they are still inside the simulation.

Zhang appears as well.
SFX: WHOOSHH
Zhang: Ughhh…
Max: There he is!

Zhang: What? It did not work? We are still here? We merely respawned? I downed 2 buckets of toxic tea for nothing?
Max: Looks like it. That clock over there reads 11:31. Time has not been reset, it seems… or has it?

Someone exits a shop, pushing a box on a trolley.
Steve: Look: the guy who tried the Vomitronic earlier, shirt full of puke, seems like he actually bought the damn thing.
Alana: Then time simply progressed alright. We are not in some Groundhog Day knock-off.
Max: Not sure whether that is a good or bad thing…
